Growing some more
My day began with the thought of bringing change to a few lives, innocent lives who were unaware of the heights that technology has reached today. Little did I know that our skills that we sometimes think is so basic that it's almost worthless to mention can be so valuable to someone else.
With the thought that, desire to learn must never end, I woke up with the intent to teach one kid and be a part of the long-running #EachOneTeachOne program. The intention was to share knowledge and help others learn but to my surprise, I think the learning was more at my end.
To begin with, I learned how our country is still lacking in providing a computer to schools in villages. There are cities where kids are provided with high-end e-learning facilities, which they don't appreciate, on the other hand, there are kids eager to learn more but are deprived of basic necessities.
I learned how I could be such great help to someone. Helpful, not only teaching about what I know about technology, but also helping someone gain confidence to make a statement. Not only adding value to their marks but also to their life.
It is tragic to see how girls are still deprived of education and fight for what they want to do in life, but it also brings me hope to see how they are slowly but steadily becoming aware of their potential and realize that they can achieve whatever they want to, the only thing that will help is education.
The experience was indescribable but the one thing that I will always remember is when you ask your student what do you want to become after you grow up and the reply is, someone like you! I think the purpose is solved and the knowledge has been shared.
I would like to thank Team CCIZ at IMT Nagpur for this opportunity, and my students Bhavna, Anchal, Kunal who added value to my life and I hope to see them achieve great heights some day.
